My plates are both on the bottom of my 75, I have an 8 bulb T5 DIY canopy and they are growing like crazy.

Plates appreciate being in the sand bed much like brain corals.

It is recommended that Plate corals be placed on the sand bed or a real soft flat surface. If it gets "pinched" by LR, it could get infected, which could lead to death. Luna

Also be sure NO air gets trapped under it..Tilt it befor placeing it on the bottom to let any air bubbles excape . they are nice and love to eat, I have an orange one.

    Good Luck Larry

Sand bed under light current and make sure that detritus and sand is not able to accumulate on them. Believe it or not some plate corals will move along the benthic area of your tank, very slowly but they will over time.
