Playstation 4 or Xbox One?

So, I'm not that into gaming.

I guess the Wii my 10 y/o likes so much is out of the question?

 

I really enjoy co-op stuff these days, I like gaming with the "kids" as well as some of my friends, but not necessarily playing huge multiplayer games.

I do wish that there was an enforceable "over 40" lobby for multiplayer games tho...I figure there'd be less cheating and more mature behavior in general, as well as peeps playing the objectives rather than spawn-camping to artificially inflate their "score per minute" stats (which I guess falls under cheating). What would probably work would be better, more even matchmaking. For instance, in what world should a person with a score per min of say 150 be playing with peeps whose spm is close to 500?

I'll buy whichever console comes up with THAT! ;-)

The youngsters can't imagine how long we had to wait for an image to download on a 14.4K connection! ONE picture, just ONE picture.

Had I known then, what I know now, I would have put the controller down and learned to write code. To think how much $ I could make with the code I could write by now, sheesh!

...All I'm saying is you gamers should be learning how to code. A strong knowledge of Windows PowerShell will get you places... ;D

 

A lot of the problem is too many visible stats for online games - it encourages people to quit in many games, or steal kills etc - even games like Pokemon. imo your score should automatically be deducted upon game start and if you quit, you lose as much or more points than a loss; or in games that only keep track of total victories, you lose one victory until the end of the match.

Spawn camping is really a problem with the game itself - there should be enough places to spawn so that anyone can safely spawn far away from any enemies. I don't understand why a lot of developers can't fix this.

Of course the people shouting into their mics are a whole nother story.

I heard that xbox will be designed to play software only on the home console. Meaning, you will not able to rent games, borrow games, or sell or buy used games when you are done. That means no more ebay, no more gamestop, and no choice but to pay $60 for a game. If this is true then its a no brainer. Ps4 all day. That's just what i hear though. Someone correct me if im wrong.

 

They took it back and won't have those policies anymore as well as the constant online checks.

To be fair to them, Gamestop is killing games but the way the One tried to handle it was unfair to the consumer.

 

I went to go pre-order a PS4 Killzone bundle from Gamestop the other day, but somehow they sold out. How do you sell out of preorders? Isn't it just a number to see how many consoles they need to have in stock? And where else can I pre-order the same bundle?

 

well, sony gives them a number of consoles that they're going to ship to gamestop at launch. Gamestop can't exceed that number. (well they can, but alot of customers wouldn't get the console on launch day)

 

They can't produce but so many consoles and they weren't finalized until fairly recently. Try Toysrus. I walked into one a week after the Wii launched and bought one. Best Buy and Gamestops in the same area were sold out for like a year.
