    does any body know what coral is on the front of the bottle of kent marine supplements? it looks really cool

    its a carnation coral or dendro.carnations have almost a zero percent success rate.they are nonphotosynthetic corals that need so much food and many different kinds that its impossible to feed them and keep a healthy tank.more than 99% die between 6 months and a yr.however their for sale in most fish stores.most store owners just tell you their an advanced care coral and leave it at that.i was part of a dendro study group for awhile before deciding that its just better to leave them in the wild.

    oo that suck and if you tell a bunch of people about it imagine the dead loss stores will suffer
    but ive wondered that every time ive added the supplements to my tank thanks for telling me

    I heard dendrophytha do best when glued sideways hanging down from the top of a cave rock with a moderate current flowing overtop the coral...I read some articles where some people were successfully propagating certain types.

    wow(cough lucky cough) i wish i could keep one but i dont feel like losing another coral
    just a random question what would happen if you put a low light coral in a high light tank would it really do anything ?

    Depends on how you acclimate the coral to lighting if you sunburn it via U/V radiation from the lights thats not good Other then that light has little effect on these corals its not needed but can be tolerated with in reason This meaning not 5 inches below a 400 M/H . I just posted to someone here just the other day about how I kept this coral for several yrs works well ..
