Right now, on my 29g, I'm running 2x10000K and 2xActinic and like the look. When I was running 2x6500K and 2x10000K, I think I defiantly got better growth though, but it's a small tank and everything grows too fast anyways. The yellow just looked really ugly. ATI makes a bulb now, called the blue plus that is very similar to an actinic, but has the par of a daylight bulb. I'm running 3 of these along with a purple plus for supplemental lighting in my new 93g because I wanted even more blue, but want the tank to fill in, so I need growth. They seem much brighter than the actinics and the corals seem to respond more. No long term observations yet though.

I have 2 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Purple Plus, 1 ATI Aquablue Special and 1 actinic bulb. The Aquablue Special is a daylight bulb and the Purple Plus is the Blue Plus with red spectrum added. This on a 75 gallon reef. The blue plus has about 2.5 to 3 times the PAR of an actinic bulb.
