please help, filter upgrade

hello reefers i have a jbj nano cube 28g hqi everything stock even the filter system i have a 3 stage filter media basket ,from top to bottom filter floss, second chemi pure ,and ceramic rings, with a oceanic biocube uv sterilizer 5 watt, i wanna do like a intank refugeum ,just need guidancefrom some one who has done it . my setup has been running for a lil over a year now just wanna upgrade plz help will up date pics ive posted this same question and after 60 views no response ): can someone plz help

 

I have a 24g aquapod. Don't know if the back is the same but in mine. In the first part I have filter floss. Second section witch is seperated with this plastic thing has my cheato,where I dump my pods I have a rock at bitten so they can chill out also have some algae growing there too. Then in return section I have my carbon bag. That's what I have going on with a clip on light on a timer. Have tons of huge pods. The green stuff grows and seems to work for me.

Unfortunatelly I don't have a refuge complete yet, but in the works. I've put mine in the back of the tank (I have an all I one tank, where all the pumps and filters are in the back) and there is really only one place big enough to fit a small plastic box, after the skimmer, on top of the bio-balls. Now just need to get the light and move my chaeto and grape algae in there. Will share if it doesn't work...
