    Think maybe your lights are getting old and need new bulbs..besides not knowing your other parameters...but that wont explain the clam dieing ...except for not enoughfood in water column and cooler temps. I stick with 78 degrees .:

    My tank runs 80-81* with no problems. I have a heater also even though I'm in Fla. But it's set to kick on at 77*. I have a colony of Duncan's doing great in my tank. I'm surprised your tank runs that cool, Unless you have a chiller. Your lights & pumps should keep your tank warm enough to not use a heater. If your running your a/c in house then maybe turn it up so tank can warm a few degrees.
