I recently bought my tank that came with a homemade canopy complete with lights. The light fixtures say nothing on them about a brand. The only writing I can make out is "1500 W 600 V" and they appear to be metal halide light fixtures. It did not come with bulbs. The socket itself where the bulbs screw in is huge. I would say twice the normal size of a regular house hold bulb. I contacted the guy and he could not help me. He claims the lights are for "marine aquariums". However, he was using the lights on the tank while breeding kois and other gold fish. I would like to use them but I dont even know where to buy a bulb let alone whether or not they are safe for reefs. Also the power cords are "3 prong female". In other words the prongs themselves are recessed inside a rubber sleeve. They are flat "horizontal" and shaped in a triangle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like a commercial lighting setup, not aquarium specific
