my ammonia level has went from 0 to 7/8 in a week what do i do in new to this someone please help me

 

can you tell us of how long the tank has been up and running ?
how much LR ?
have you added any thing recently ?
how many fish you now have ?
what size tank do you have ?

 

180 litre tank, about 38 fish, tank 2 weeks old, i dont know what lr is

 

Oh you will see it do all kinds of thing over the next few months search cycling a tank you'll fine tons of info and the why fors and how too's I have posted a ton myslef let alone what other have done

Ok, LR= live rock.
The tank is only 2 weeks old ?


Tell us about what type of live stock/live rock you have in it ( if any ).
Have you performed any other water tests such as nitrate,nitrites,phosphates, etc. ?

Is this tank to be a "fish only" tank or a "reef" set up ?

 

im assuming you have a fresh water tank?

 

please tell me this is a freshwater tank

 

my ph is ok and nitrate is ok. i have 2 plecs 2 scissor tails 4 catfish 4 golden barbs 2 fighting fish about 8 mollys 2 clown loaches 4 phantons 4 terras not sure if these are correct names

 

was thining the same thing here godbert.. wow 38 fishies ?
even in a fresh water in a 180 liter tank seems a gross amount.

 

like i said i didnt have a clue about it all, i just need someone to tell me how to get the ammonia level down
