I'd be checking your parameters at least every day. At least it'll be easy to do water changes if necessary.

so the only thing that was going into the new tank at the office was going to be a scooter blenny and a six lined wrass? it sounds like you just bought them for your own tank and didnt want to admit it because of the responses of other members you would get. i dont know why you father "an experienced aquarist" would think that they would be better off in a non cycled 5 gallon tank vs a bigger non cycled tank. just my thoughts

True, a larger volume would be more stable. I'd be rea4lly afraid of the tank recycling, a CUC doesn't add half as much as those 2 fish. And no pods for both fish, which is their main diet. Does the other tank have LR? I'd take em back.

    Hmmm.....
Yes, this happened on his original build thread, causing him to start another. He changed his answers to sound correct.

I was about to say that.

I am very confused as to what is going on as well. Please stick to one story so we can actually help.

it seems like alot of people like to buy fish and then ask if they will be able to keep it in there tanks, instead of asking first and buying later. and if your dad is a good aquarist and told you they would be fine in your tank then why did you come on here and ask if they will be ok

while he did say before he started cycling like 2 weeks ago, the rest of the story seems to be running amuck.

alhtough its odd how these new additions are timed right with the completion of you tank cycle & livestock deciding choices in your build thread. possible but odd.

funny for 100 posts a day nobody ever heard mention of a CuC until the rest of all the livestock showed up too.

I am still trying to figure out why his dad would accept livestock and servcices from an obviously inexperienced company if he has expereince. ok I can understand outsourcing but if I see someone doing something wrong especially when I'm paying the bill I am not going to go 'ok guys have a nice weekend' and let them walk out. if they walked out without checking out with you first that is equally shady and not a place I would hire.

scooters are a type of dragonette NOT a blenny actually & eat pods unless trained like mandarins/dragonettes primarily not sifters as a main food source, how would someone expereinced let one be put in a fresh tank & also how would that expereinced person put one in a 5gal that is just as new?

way too many things in this story sounds (pardon the expression) fishy. I'm not there so I dont know, and I cant say. I can only agree with others on the questionable track record of background information that some people provide. Then again I still wonder how someone with 14 reef tanks of expereince still posts & asks help how to take care of virtually every type of livestock.

All I'm gonna say is unless your a politician; honesty is a virtue.

he also claimed to work at his LFS on a few occasions, which im pretty sure you would have enough knowledge from working at a fish store to know that a 6 lined wrasse and scooter blenny wont work in a 5 gallon uncycled tank. you can only get help on here if we all know the right details of the tank. I dont understand how lying to get the answer you want to hear is helping you at all. I know everyone on here is more than happy to help but pretty soon everyones just going to stop trying to help you if this continues
