I finally got the tank set up last week. As soon as turn the skimmer on thousands of bubbles are shot through the tank. I bought it new and the guy that i got it from is not very helpful. I have tried adjusting the valve and do not know what else to do. Any help would be great-full.

sorry know one got to this sooner, I hope your problem has went away by now. sometimes new skimmers will do that intill they are broke in. You could try adjusting the flow only allowing the bottom chamber to fill the slowly adjust it over several days, other than that Im not sure, since you have not stated what type of skimmer you have, tank size, filtration system. Also being a new tank it shouldnt have alot to skim anyway. ANYONE?

I broke my skimmer in for two days before connecting it to the tank... I filled it up with saltwater before it ran out, and turned it on and let the bubbles circulate... when I connected it, I didn't have the issue of too many bubbles, but I don't know if breaking it in helped. From what most people say, the bubbles will go away after a couple of days.

We will see if the break in fixes he bubbles. In thee mean time i have put some foam under the Skimmer output and that seems to help. I also do not have a baffle in the sump due to the Refug. I might make some kind of pad or filter and put it where the where a baffle should be. Hopefully it does not slow the flow and let the pump run dry.

That Skimmer should have a foam ring type pad on the return pipe that goes Into your sump! Plus If you add a foam block between your Bubble trap In your Sump this will also stop the bubbles from getting Into your tank. Hope this helps...
