Please help with stocking order

Hello, I finally figured out the fish I am most interested in for my 55 gallon Fowlr and I made a list can someone with a lot of experience in this hobby please help me put it in order from who I should put in first-last. That would be great
(I understand I won't be able to fit them all this is just so I can find out who I want the most and what order to put them in)

I would narrow it down more. Skip the engineer, the 6 line, emporer and damsel right off the bat. Because too large, too aggressive, too large, too aggressive.

 

55 is too small for two angels IMP, so choose one or the other.

I know LA lists 50 as the minimum for the Kleins, but I would think they would do better in a larger tank. I could be wrong though.

For order, something like this:

Firefish
Goby
Cardinal
Butterfly (if applicable)
Angel
Dottyback (can become very aggressive!)
Clown

If you did not go with the Butterfly, you could substitute a Fairy or Flasher Wrasse in its place

 

okay i think id rather the coral beauty over the flame, but marshall i realized you are also in mass, do you know of any lfs that would carry some of these specific fish?

 

firefish are great, can be bullies though

 

I'd probably make the order more like:

panda goby
Bangaii Cardinal
Purple fire fish
Clown*
Coral *beauty angel
Flame Angel
Neon dottyback

not sure on having both angels. but if you can, adding at the same time might work best. I wouldn't try the butterfly - won't be enough room. I'm also assuming the clown is an orange and not a clarkii, maroon, tomato, etc.

 

They are pretty much the same in terms of temperment. Coral Beauty's are about $30 while Flame Angels are $60-70. I don't know where you are located, but Tropic Isle in Framingham (right on Rt 9) has a huge selection of fish and corals. They always have multiple of the angels in stock, plus most or all of the rest of your list. Their corals are very well priced for the most part.

If you are closer to Worcester, I am a fan of Krystal Clear Aquatics in Auburn. Much smaller selection, but they can order anything you need if they don't have it. They also have 10 tanks dedicated to corals, so a good selection there.

Agreed on the angels, and also assuming a perc or Ocellaris clown and not the larger clowns. I would still say the clown should be last though. Move him to the bottom and I agree with your list.

The advice so far seems fine except the Dottyback.They can be extremely mean and will probably bully the Firefish and Cardinal.
