Please ID....Aiptasia???

    Just added some new LR and have 1/2 dozen of these...should I be getting rid of them. Just need a pro to ID for certain.

    Welcome Marnie!  Yup that's it!  Good 'ol aiptasia and they will colonize your whole tank.

    Do a search of the forums for lots of discussion on methods to eradicate.

    I think peppermint shrimp will take care of those.

    Only add the Peppermint shrimp if you really want them. There are two species that are very similar, but only on eats the aiptasia. You almost need to be a marine biologist to tell the two species apart.

    u mean camel vs peppermints?...well i believe that the peppermint is more red and clear and the camel is more red and white...but im not completly sure... :)

    I had GREAT SUCCESS ;D killing my aiptasia with HOT water. I heated the water to almost boiling and used a 1 tsp medicine syringe, from drugstore, to squirt the water into the aiptasia. They will move out of the way and retreat into hiding, but if you follow them in and squirt the HOT water into their hiding place, they will explode...

    I had 15-20, and some were as large across as silver dollars, now they are all gone. I also added 2 peppermint shrimp. Once the big ones were gone, they took care of the little ones. Now I am aiptasia free...

    Joe Juice, lemon juice, peppermint shrimp all work!! Never heard of the hot water thing, sounds interesting...SPLATTT!!!

    I actually put a rock up against a blow torch and the thing came back-joes juice works great
