Please ID these 4 coral like things growing on the side of my liverock. Their pretty small and hard to get a good shot of. They are able to retract.

    Thanks

If your question is adressed to me dano. When i bought the rock there was about 12 of them on it. Now after about 4 maybe 5 months theres about 50 - 60 of them all around the rock. They grow and multiply fast in good conditions. They dont need allot of light, as you can see in my sig im running NO bulbs. There great hardy beginer corals.

    Palythoa looks like to me.

FWIW, all corals have polyps, you'd best be served by not calling a zoa or paly a "polyp".

Got it Gresham, you are right... would button polyps be the right common name for them? Thats what they call them on several web sites.

Yah, "button" or "saucer" polyps is a exceptable common name for palythoa.
