Picture 1 is of a large rock with a few types of coral on it. Is that an anemone growing. If so, what does that mean as far as caring for it.

Picture 2 is a type of coral. At night this secretes some sort of white slime and little projections come out. Is this normal?

Photo 3 is of what looked like a snail with no shell. Not sure.

Last pic is of a bunch of little white things that are moving around on a piece of LR, and they move like snails. There was some sort of egg sack in there last week

#3 is a Stomatella snail, harmless algae eater.

#4 are Acoel flatworms, usually not terribly bad, but nobody wants to be overrun with them.

I'll let the coral experts answer the other two.

    Cheers,

    Don

Pic 1 is a majano anemone (bad and can reproduce quickly)
Pic 2 looks like the toad stool is melting. sluffing of layers of mucus could be do to chemical war fare
pic 3 is an Abalone great clean up critter
pic 4 is a flat worm (not a good thing and can reproduce very fast)

    Hope that helps

Not the answers I was hoping for. How should I get rid of that type of anemone. It looks like there are already a few little ones spreading on that rock. I just bought that from the LFS which said, oh cool alittle anemone growing on the rock. Also, any advice on the flatworms. Its in a 29 nano cube about 3 months old. The toad stool was just glued down as it was getting knocked all over the tank. It was moved a few times in a few days and was really getting knocked around. Water parameters are all good.

The easiest is a syringe with hot water or there are commercial Aptasia removers that will work.

The toad stool is likely annoyed by the glue and moves.

I would use Flat worm exit

I'll have to defer to Jason on the abalone ID if those are holes in the shell rather than papillae on the mantle. Does the shell have holes?

    Cheers,

no holes. It looks like little extensions. Hard to get a good pic of the thing too. The rock with the anemones was put in this last sat. I took it out and put it in a container with salt water. I used forceps and medical scissors and cut out about 4 of the little suckers. If you get most of it, does it kill them, or is it like a worm and will grow back. Next time I could probably just use chemicals and treat it in a separate container. How do the anemones spread. Can they travel to other rock that they are not touching? Thanks!

i think it'll grow back, the best solution would be to pick up some kalwasser from your LFS, mix it into a paste with some water, suck that paste into a syringe and inject it directly into the mouth of the undesirable anemone. Boiling water doesn't kill them IME, it just burns them and they grow back in a few weeks. I think the same with cutting them out. Never had majano anemone or aiptasia but I've heard they just release a million spores when they feel endangered, so unless you have a tube siphoning water from the spot you're cutting, I wouldn't risk it.

Keep us updated, I too have a 29g Biocube and it's around 9months old now. I've had great help with a few of these guys here on 3reef!!

First. I cut out a few of the anemones before doing a lot of research. I'm hoping there is not spores and thousands showing up in my tank. Second. I read that the white flat worms are not bad and are self limiting. Any truth or experience with this?

Just a quick update. There are now about 50 tiny little white things on my tank glass. They look like tiny baby anemone's. Hopefully its something else, but thats exactly what they look like. The center is the size of a dot, and the little legs are tiny. Arrrrgh
