Hi, so I have been gathering items for my first 65 "36x18x24" build over past month and after getting everything together, I had to move. New place is in an apartment on the 2nd floor. Slightly worried about the weight of aquarium, stand, sump etc..

I can't upload a pic of where the stand would be going but will try to describe: it is going in a bedroom against the wall that devides me and my neighbor. If you look at the letter "L" the up and down line is outside wall, left and right line being wall devidng me and neighbor... The back of the aquarium will go against the left and right about a foot from outside wall?

I have read a bunch of " I have xxx gallons on such floor with no problem, only thing is I can't tell where my joists are?? Don't know how to find them in apartment and front desk doesn't know either >_<

    Just wondering thoughts??

Would LOVE to hear if you have experience or know someone who does as I am a few days from filling it unless I need to sell and get something a little smaller/longer??

    Lol idk what to do!!!

    Thanks,
    Tim

65g should not be a problem at all, especially against a wall.

    Haha :D

May I ask where your tank is located? Load bearing wall?? Mine would go a food off the outside wall on a wall perpendicular to it? And I think the wall goes straight down to first floor apartment too..

Just sucks I can't figure out which way my joists run! >_<

It's on a internal wall, not load bearing.
Can't you feel the joists when you walk ?
It don't matter much to me, I have a cube.

Floor seems stable though, wow it's 3am in the uk, time for me to go to sleep already.

    Night world.

No problem. I have a 125 +40g sump upstairs. Carefully placed over supporting joists.
If you think about it your tank is basically 3 full grown men sitting on a couch. I personally don't think you'll have an issue.

65 with a sump and equipment still comes up to say 600lbs. thats about the same as an adult sized bed with 2 large adults, and they dont fall thru. just near the wall as an added bonus for support youll be fine.
