Please recomend me a quiet pump

    I'm currently running a Rio 800 for my GFO Reactor and it is annoyingly loud. Could anyone recommend a more quiet pump around the same size?

    For media reactors I use MJ400 powerheads. You want low flow in the reactor so you don't grind the media up and the MJ400 seems just right for me. Others use the Minijet 606 and they work well too.

    For larger pumps I agree with Matt, Eheim or Ocean Runner would be my choices.

    i use a mj1200 with a ball valve throttle back to maybe 75% for the GFO, and another one at "wide open" for my carbon reactor. but i also have about a foot of head pressure on the pumps. i cant hear them at all.
