I have a 40g breeder mixed reef with corals and inverts. What is a decently sized fish that swims at mid-level that will be safe in this kind of smaller reef.

I was thinking Coral Beauty, but I'm just a little worried. They have one down at the LFS but how would I test it without sacrificing my small young corals?

    Current stocking list:
    Falco Hawkfish
    Starry Blenny
    Yellowtail Damsel

    Planning to add:
    Ocellaris Clown x2
    Dragnet
    (in the distant future)

    Thank you!

People keep mentioning the Grammas but I simply don't like the way they look. I appreciate the suggestion but lets come up with something else. ;)

SaltwaterGuy: I also have a Starry Blenny and a peaceful Yellowtail Damsel (left over from the cycle process).

i know you said tank is just inverts and corals, but I just want to double check, you're saying the tank is completely empty of fish correct? haha just trying to make sure.

If you dont like royal grammas, check out black cap basslets!

Sorry, No I have a Falco Hawkfish, a Starry Blenny, and a peaceful Yellowtail Damsel. The damsel doesn't need to stay but I'd rather not try to fish him out, plus he looks pretty IMO. Also, I don't know if it matter but I also have an Urchin.

Thanks for asking about my stocking, didn't think to mention that.

I got my velvet because I thought it was pretty and he pics at my acans and Acro's all day. Every once in a while I see him nip at my Zoas. Real PITA and I can't wait to get him out. Hopefully you have better luck with yours.

Excuse my ignorance, but your 'velvet' what? Damsel?

So far my yellowtail hasn't touched a thing. Fingers crossed.

TheSaltwaterGuy, I think I will be adding a pair of Ocellaris Clowns regardless.

Still looking for that "one" fish :D
