I've had a couple zoas that look like they are being eaten at or kind of melting away. So I've been reading alot about zoa pests. I think it's made me paranoid. I think it's some of the asternia stars I have, but then I saw this and said CRAP, is it a sundail or some other pest snail. I've had nerite eggs everywhere since I put them in the tank ( 4 months ago, the old 29g, same rock in the 40b) so I really hope it's baby nerites. I know they don't tend to make it in our systems but I guy can hope huh.

Too small to tell. Did they, or anything else come out in the dips? I'd still recommend a Furan 2 dip.

No I actually found these on my mushroom rock. When I did the dips only a few pods came out. I picked a star off the rock though, so that's what makes me think it's the culprit.

I used to try to find criminals near the scene of the crime. If your Zoas are healthy, they should be growing fine. It's common for them to succumb to a bacterial infection, hence the Furan2.

I didn't have a big problem with my Zoa's, but they never really spread that much. A few times, I thought Asterina's had eaten them, and I was on the look out for other pests. I read this, Furan 2 dip, and decided to try it for myself. After one dip, there was a big difference in all of the Zoa's. Now, they are all growing like they should, and I dip all new arrivals in Furan2.

Thanks, looks like I'll be adding it to my reef medicine cabinet.

You're right. When I zoom way in on picture #2, it looks just like a baby Colonista. ;D
