please tell me my ph test kit is wrong

so i just check my ph for the first time since the move to the 90 gallon. it cant be right. its like 7.6. a very light golden color with api. i am assuming it has to be wrong. i had to make at least 50 gallons of new water (used instant ocean salt).

i cheacked alk and its 12dkh (which is always is)

and Ca is 420.

the ph kit is pretty old.

i am going to get a new kit in the AM. i hope someone can help me get some sleep.

 

I'm betting expired kit. I don't know if you realize the lot number is the date it was made. Just an fyi

yeah that means it was MADE in '04... API kits are confusing ... but pH usually lasts for 3 years. regardless, you need a new one

haha never check pH again so late at night!! lol get a new kit tomorrow and get some sleep tonight!

ok, went to get a new kit....sold out at my LFS. but i did bring some water and had them ckeck it.

8.1..............i feel much better. still a little lower then i would like but what i stayed at before the upgrade.
