Hello Everyone!! When my tank finished it's cycle I went out to the lfs but it was closed so I got desperate and yes shoot me later but I went to Petco. Well I picked up a false percula (which is not getting along with my original real clown) and a piece of rock with what I thought was yellow polyps cuz thats what the stupid tag said :-[. Now after research I found out that they are not polyps!! Can someone please tell me what they are and how to take care of them?? Also when I first put them in my tank they were all opened... now only half of them are half and the rest are hiding or dying or something. Please help!!!

Yup. They will open back up after they settle in, assuming your water is ok and you have enough light to support them.

My water test have been fine. Ammonia and nitrites are at 0 and my nitrates are a little bit above 0. As for lighting systems I have a coralife 30" compact flourescent fixture with double linear strips. There's 2-65 watt 50/50 straight pin compact flourescent lamps

The lighting is the same as what I rockand my zoas are doing great just give them time to chill out. As for the clown I know if you dont introduce them together you have a greater propensity for fighting.

Zoas. They're not too hard to care for. Don't need a ton of light. As far as the clowns are concerned I believe you said you put a fake clown, or Ocellaris in with an existing real clown, Percula. If this is the case Im not too surprised there's conflict.

I didn't get them together. I put the clown in about a month ago and he's been by himself till now. So there's no chance at all that they'll get along?

Percs and false percs dont get along usually. Percs are more aggressive than false percs. How big is your tank?

I would probably move one of the clowns. Its generally not a good idea to mix clownfish species. Even in my 90 a pair of yellow skunks killed a pair of ocellaris. Right now they're probably juveniles and it will only get worse as they mature.
