Can you please id these two types of algae for me?

The first one is on the rock that my toadstool is on. It is stringy, but doesn't move with the water flow - it's stiff. It's about 1/4 inch long. I know it's not a clear pic, but it is the best I can do for now. It was on the rock when we got the toadstool & hasn't spread much.

The other is in the sand.

I do have some diatom algae on the sand, but this stuff is red, not brown.

    Params:
    sg - 1.024
    NH4 - <0.25
    NO2 - 0
    NO3 - <10
    PO4 - 0
    dKH - 11.2
    pH - 8.2
    Ca - 370
    Mg - 1460
    Temp - 77.1

Four days ago, it was cloudy with what looked like a white fog. Did 15% water change, tested params (all ok) & it completely cleared up in less than 2 days.

    Should I be worried?

    Thanks for your help :)

this one behind the yellow coral looks like a red cyanobacteria.

...and I'm guessing you're talking about the red on the sand here?

oh ,ok, thought i did. dont you just love it when people throw stones at each other.

made them bigger for ya, right one looks like cyano, cant see the left one

probably not cyano, more than likely a type of macro algae. is it hollow or like a leaf?

Yes - it's on the surface of the sand & a little beneath the surface.

+2 on cyano. Is this a new tank? If so, it is part of the cycle typically. Be sure to check out the sticky threads in the algae board on this.

Thanks for fixing the pics reef guru!

The tank is 4 months old.

The stuff behind the toadstool is more hollow-like. I looked at the pictures on the link, but it doesn't look like any of those.

The reddish/purple/pink stuff on and in the sand might be coralline? I had that show up in my sand after scraping a ton of coralline algae off my glass. It's almost like its part of the sand, not a blanket algae like cyno, right?
