It will do all its capabail of No HOB skimmer was really worth bringing home really Youy will need a adercuate skimmer at some point but a skimmer on a new tank is a few months away. so there is time . I'll Buy the mag 7 if you think the 9.5 is to much.. Its a 45 gallon Now the skimmer is your problem :) Is this going to be a F/O or a reef ? if its going to be a reef you better rethink the pipe sizing.. You want Volume not pressure and I'd run 1.inch up from the pump to the tank.

Tangster - I've had this tank up and running for a year and I am really only doing this to move me AquaC down to the sump so that it isn't spitting microbubbles all over my main tank, which it has been doing for a year!!! I have 3 baffles in the 10 gallon sump which i am hoping ::crossing fingers:: will eliminate most of the microbubbles.

Ooooh! Good question! I recently moved my Remora to my new 10 gallon sump that has a MAG7 return...and I've noticed a distinct decrease in skimmate production. I just replaced the white screw on it and gave it a good cleaning so I was thinking that was my problem. I hadn't considered there being a flow issue...

You will always have bubbles from that skimmer its how they work with a sump there are far better options for a skimmer .. A HOB skimmer is never that god a skimmer. And what you need to do is toss the baffles and put the skimmer as far from the return pump as possible and fill the area in between with rocks to create lower flows to allow the air to surface. Y'all guys need to get a Red Sea Berlin insump classic skimmer and be done with it..

Pisces - I believe there is definitely a flow issue. However, have you noticed a decrease in microbubbles since you moved the Remora down to the 10 Gallon sump? Do you have any pictures of your set up or plumbing?
