I have two threaded parts that run water from my overflow to my sump. They are exactly the same, and both drip water. I circled the part where they leak on the attached photo. Does anyone know how to stop this? I have washers in them thinking that would stop it. Can I put silicone around the thread? PVC cement? Help! Thanks.

it doesnt look like you used plumbers tape. And if you did, you didnt use enough. It's about $0.50 at home depot.

Agreed with Bama, put 5 taut clockwise wraps on it.

Teflon tape. aka plumbers tape. go around the entire length of the threads 4 or 5 times.

Instead of using the regular thread tape, they make a pink thread tape that is thicker and better suited for plastic threads without having to pile it on. I use it on all my threaded connections and have never had a leak. It's 2.00 at lowes. It comes in a pink plastic container instead of the blue.

teflon tape. make sure you wrap it in the direction of the threads, like you were screwing the tape on if that makes sense

It seems that you haven't placed enough plumber's tape around the leaking area. Try to wrap it using more plumber's tape. Or else, have some other thicker type of tape for it.

+1 tape it up. I have a similar leak and am about to remedy it, with tape. Lol
