My Bulkhead Installation Tips sticky post has helped many people:

Do not use silicone, dry and handtight plus about 1/4 turn. Do not support piping or fittings with the bulkheads or you stress them and make sure to spend a couple minutes cleaning the excess flashing or plastic out of the threads and off the flange sealing surfaces, it really pays off.

It's only leaking from the threads. I drained it, cut off the extra ring and tightened it by hand then a little turn with pliers. It's very slowed and I think one stopped but ones going slowly from the thread could I use teflon tape?

Just so I'm clear, is the part that's leaking for you the rubber ring that holds the bulk head to the aquarium or the part where the pvc slides in? By your picture the bulk head looks like a slip fitting and there are drops of water coming out of it as if the pvc glue didn't seal it correctly.

Edit... Sorry, you answered my question in the above post as soon as i submitted this, lol

It's coming directly from the threads underneath the nut. It's looks like that from when I first filled it and it poured out everywhere. No water had passed through that tube yet and I've heard great reviews about the PVC glue I used so I have good faith in that. I slowed the leak on one by a lot and may have stopped the other with cutting off the ring. My only other idea is Teflon tape because it has to do with the threads.

Its very hard to see your photos.
Are those unions glued to the exterior of the bulkhead? The threads that are on the exterior are not standard tapered pipe threads and not a standard pipe size so you wlll not get PVC fittings to seal on them. Only the interior of the bulkhead, either slip or preferrably threaded are intended for plumbing, the exterior threads are only to tighten the jamb nut and are straight cut threads so will not snug up like tapered pipe threads.

Its the gasket that seals, the threads should not be an issue.
Is the bulkhead snug in the drilled hole or is it a sloppy fit? I detail a way to fill in gaps in the thread. Was the gasket clean and dry when installed with no lubricants or sealants and not folds or ripples? Sealants cause gaskets to scoot out of place. Did you take the time to clean the surface of the flange and threads so there is no excess plastic. This is important as water will travel along a ridge in the plastic.

Yeah that's weird but I definitely wouldn't use silicone on that part, i was mistaken in what you meant at first. I guess it wouldn't hurt trying Teflon tape, the only thing that comes to my mind is the rubber gasket for the bulk head is getting pinched and not sealing right.

I'm going to just sound stupid and say I don't really get what your saying that message. Both bulkheads are slip and both have PVC glued into there but for my outtake after the PVC is a male adapt then one half of my union. I used PVC cement to glue this all. And on the intake it goes straight into a union and straight into the bulkhead all glued.
