plumbing question

    how would i connect my refugium to the sump? should i drill a hole on the side of the refugium which will be connected with a 1" pvc pipe down to the sump or can i simply make a u tube pvc over flow to the sump with nothing special just the pvc? the refugium will be 6 inches above the sump.

    I would and have done the drill a hole in the side option. The overflow can be more of a pain.
