Ok Im about to rip all my plumbing out and start over.

I bought a new AGA 125 with dual corner overflows. Its going in my living room and I want it to be quiet. Whats the best way to plumb this turd?

Im running an Ehiem 5000 compact (which is a whole other noise issue) for a return pump and a Proflex model 4 sump.

I tried dual dursos. Loud! Big air hole small air hole, no difference, the bubbles through the pipes was too much noise. I dont know what else to do.

My last idea is a herbie. 1in Full siphon and 3/4 return in one corner, and 3/4 DRY emergency and 1in durso in the other. Only problem I see is the ful siphon overflow not staying below DT level or sucking air.

    Rant over. PLEASE HELP!:-/

I (as with anything in this hobby) recommend reading as much as u can about plumbing before you start. I thought I had a pretty good plan, used lots of unions and hard plumbed everything within 6 inches of the sump and pump. Then used nylon hose for vibration/noise reduction.

I have changed it about 3 times now cutting out, adding more, routing differently, teeing the returns together.... needless to say atleast 20 hours work, 10? trips to hardware store, $100+ spent on parts and I still
    hate it.

I wish I could help I love plumbing! Here is my setup if it helps any. I can barely hear water running. Although keep some consideration that it's 125 gallons of water being circulated. Chances are you might hear something....

well ill tell you this (and it wont help you!) i had an overflow system in my BEDROOM and oh my god did i lose sleep! (the tank is now a dead silent planted discus tank, sooooooo much better) when i upgraded i said screw a refu and sump its just to much noise and plumbing, so i got a tunze reefpack 505 for my 118 gallon, skimmer does not make a squeek! love it. i built my rock work around the reefpack to hide it, so yea what im saying is good luck i guess....:S

Thanks for the reply! What type of stand pipe/overflow box are you using?
