    I used straight pipes with a screen fitting on the top. I think I purchased them from Aquacave. For the emergency drains they are just straight pipes. I have hundreds of snails and have never had any problems with the pipes or screens clogging.

    My second gate valve finallly arrived yesterday evening and I put it in this morning. Just waiting for the glue to set! Come on!

    I did dual herbies on my 210 and it is dead silent.the air intake on my skimmer is the loudest thing on my tank.

    Ok, finally got it flowing and dialed in. As Loneracer said... DEAD silent. Wish I would have went this route to begin with.

    Swisswiss - that setup actally lets you have a slower flow thru the refug and a higher flow thru the other side of the sump. He has a tee in the return with a valve, so he can run a trickle thru the refug, and 1000 gph thru the skimmer side. Great setup if you ask me.

    Yes the sch 80 are really nice valves. silky smooth. time will tell if they stay that way, but Im a believer already!

    I'll try to get some pics up or a diagram of my setup sometime soon. Off to work!
