It depends on how thin they are...it took a few months to fatten up our OSFF.

Since the fish is eating (you're lucky there), simply give it a good, varied diet...sounds like you're on the right track.

When I get home, I'll ask Renee (Renee@LionfishLair here on 3R) if she has any specific recommendations, as she is WAY geeky when it comes to fish nutrition.

Thanks for your help! Let me know what she says :)

And on food packages it says something like "protein.....10% min" what does that mean and I assume a higher percentage is better?

Can you get your hands on PE mysis? Its got over 50% protien. My predator tank goes nuts for them.

It means how much protien is in that particular food.

I think he forgot to tell me because I was pre-op. Just got back, so as soon as I'm off the sofa this evening, we'll fatten your boy up!!!

That sounds awesome. I'm not sure. I only know of one place that would sell it, I'll call them and see.

Edit- just checked into the food . It has 69% protein! Wow

    Haha thank you :)

That's why my fish are fat and happy. I still feed a very wide assortment of foods including soaks for angels that have sponge in it and selcon. Variety is the key to nutrition. PE mysis is the best mysis I've ever used.

I'm totally picking some up, it seems like a great food especially for bulking up a fish (or so I've read). And they're whole shrimp intsead of chunks that dont even look like shrimp in the hikari brand.

I was unable to find the PE mysis locally. I got some more dried seaweed that he likes picking at and it has a good amount of protein. Is there anything else I could try?

Get selcon for a food soak but just read protien contents before you buy any food. Adding selcon to food is always good for the fish. I would order some PE mysis quick. Sounds like your best bet
