not working yet, i just let all of the foam leak into a bucket. i thought it would calm down after water change. now i have air valve open 1 full turn and it spits bubbles into tank like nuts and all i get is all clear odourless foam. i stopped using water conditioner and water level is always about the same maybe varying 2-3 gallons but its pretty much constant.this i giving me nothing but frustration.

hmm. so no matter what you do you always get too many bubbles? even when the water level is at its lowest? you may have anwered this question allready but i didnt see it. is your skimmer hangon or in sump? if it is in sump how high is the water level on avg? as some others have said it is of great importance to keep a constant water level for that skimmer to work properly. i fought one for 2 years and the day i made the water level constant i never had to touch it again.

Every time I clean my old SeaClone the same thing happens. I need to clean it about 4 times a year d/t algae and scum buildup. It's the nature of the beast. Just adjust the air inlet screw. You will find over time that you will need to open it a little more every couple weeks till it is all the way open. Then it won't produce enough good foam and it's time to start the cycle over again.

Cleaning hint: Let it soak in the sink in a mix of hot water and bleach for a half hour or so. It's the only way I've found to easily clean the reaction chamber on the bottom. Make sure you rinse it well and then soak it with your favorite declorinating agent before putting it back in use. You should not be able to smell the bleach! Trust your nose. I like Amquil (sp). Don't forget to remove the Venturi from the tank an clean it. It is normally the first part to clog up. Running a paperclip down the hole is manditory to assure enough air get injected.

Over all I like the SeaClone for a small tank, but it is labor intensive.

    Good luck,

    Bruce

I have a seaclone 100... don't like it, it either skims not enough or too much, or too many micro-bubbles, have to adjust the valve constantly.... I wanna toss it. I also use the tetra aqua conditioner but never have had foam overflow out of the cup. I would suggest upgrading to a better skimmer, which is what I am going to do once my wallet gets a bit thicker.

Wigger, you should write a review of the SeaClone 150 and describe your frustration with it.
