pod population..

so ive noticed my pod population has been dwindling ever since i got my six-line wrasse... i realize six-lines graze on pods, hes been in the tank about 4 months now plumb and healthy obviously but could he really be the cause of my nearly depleted population of them? or is it a coincidence and there is another reason behind this?

i still find a decent amount swimming through my chaeto within my fuge, but none in my DT with the exception of a few large amphipods that roam around at night.

its the 6 line they really are efficient at grabbing pods when they want to be, I had one that dissappeared for a month i found out he was living inside a hollow rock with a very fat stomach after completely decimating the breeding nest inside.

 

The wrasse has caused the population to go down, but there are probably more than you think in the tank. They most likely will be hiding in nooks and crannies in your rock.

 

thanks guys, he had to have made an impact, but it seems excessive from what i can see, i remember after my lights going out shinning a flashlight around and seeing a ton! of pods swarming the rock, and now its hard to find a couple.

im not worried because its not like i have a mandarin, and six-line happily accepts food during feeding. just curious if could be the cause.
