So I noticed I have very small fleas popping up in my tank. I suspect these are pods. I have also noticed clear little tubes growing out of one of my live rocks. Are these related? Sorry, they are so small that I would not be able to get a photo with my Powershot.

the fleas are mostly copepods. or baby pods of a different species. Common tiny crustaceans that will mulitply on their own in your aquarium consist of copepods, isopods, mysis shrimp, and amphipods. Thats from smallest to largest. Pods you can barely see. Amphipods can grow up to 1/4". All are beneficial as they scavenge your rock and sandbeds for food. Also serve as free food for your fish.

tube worms are the clear threads you talk about. they are harmless for the most part i think.

if the fleas have antennas and weird looking hind legs and grow to a centimeter then they are gammarid amphipods.

I was wondering if they were related, being the pods grow out of the tubes. I don't believe these are tube worms. Thanks for the assistance though! I'll just have to get a better camera with a great lens.
