some are out at day, most at night. just use a flashlight. i'm almost positive you have some - how long has your tank been running? Mine love to crawl around on all the algae spots and even on some sponges. Also in the sand itself you'll see little creepy crawlies movin around, just be more observant and you'll find them!

I definitely see them in the day, but there should be more at night.

FWIW, many species of pods are positively phototropic, attracted to light, and thus move toward the light (surface) to feed. These pods feed on phytoplankton and other forms of algae, so it follows that they're active during the daylight hours.

That being said, many of the predatory species are nocturnal.
