    Hey all,

I'm considering placing an order with indo pacific sea farms (: : : : Indo-Pacific Sea Farms : : : :) they sell a wide assortment of things including bacteria, live sand booster, plankton, pods, worms, clams, ect. They have a mix and match special which seems like a good deal but in order to get it i need to choose 9 things. I want to get their nitrate reducer and sand activator now while the tank is cycling but i am wondering if my water isn't good enough now to add things like pods, worms and plankton. These are my params as of today.

    Ph 8.2
    Ca 430
    Alk 8.4
    Mg 1290
    Ammonia <.25
    Nitrite .4
    Nitrate 80
    Phosphate undetectable

Wait until your tank is cycled.

I'd say just the exact opposite as cycling won't do much to them in terms of harm, but adding them now with nothing else in the tank will allow them to reproduce and take hold.

I've started quite a few tanks doing that, and ordering the 9 for 9 from IPSF.

Gresham, thats the intention. So you just added them to the tank while cycling? Were you satisfied with what you purchased from them? what did you end up getting

I've been ordering from Gerald since he started the business :) It looks like he's changed some things around, like no longer offering the Sea Bunnies. Off his current list, I've gotten the amphipods, Tang Heaven, WonderMud, Nerites, and strombus.

I've gotten everything he produces as one time or another, top notch stuff... and he's a competitor of mine to boot

I wouldn't put any of my stuff in ammonia if it wasn't necessary, especially the leather coral, the nerites and strombus and hermit. They don't NEED to be exposed to ammonia, so why? I wait until the ammonia and nitrite are gone before I add any livestock and those critters are livestock.

I've ordered from them multiple times as well.... I don't remember the snails and hermits.

Sounds good. So my ammonia, phosphate and nitrite are now at 0 with nitrates at around 40ppm.

Should I place my order? I hear it takes about a week for processing and shipping with them so nitrate should be lower by then. Ill also be adding their live sand activator, plankton and nitrate reducer. Which if meets their claims should help to reduce my nitrates.
