I just realized that i hadn't added any pods to my refugium. I just purchased a bottle of Tiger Pods at my LS. Not knowing how to put them in other than dump them in. So I turned off the return pump and pured them in over my caulerpa and let sit sit for about 20 minutes before turning the pump back on. What exactly do the pods do for the system?

Do you add anything else to your Refugium? I see lots of posts about how to build a Refugium, but very little on stocking and mainteance. Mine is a 30gal. Caulerpa, Live rock, Mud, a filter sock, 6500 CPF running 24 / 7.

Good addition! Pods will reproduce fast as well. Get some phyto-plex or some phytoplankton food to give them 2 times a week for them to feed on. Even though detritus is a good source of food, they seem to really like the phyto and I can tell in the amount of pods I see on the glass after I started adding a bit of phyto 2 times per week. Be careful and add as directed. My bottle says 5 to 10 ml for 55 gallons, I add 5. I always use the lower reference number and then go from there.

if you want you could add like a shrimp to your fuge but some of them do eat pods so yeah but it depends: what r u using the fuge for? if you want to keep a dragonet then keep it with pods, chaeto, and LR rubble. if you just want to keep chaeto or something like that you could maybe get like a small fish if you'd like or shrimp. also used for like a safe place for fish being bullied and what not
