Almost 2 weeks ago I dumped in a thing of tigger pods into my fuge section of my sump, there is some cheato a rock and a sponge. I have not seen them since are they gone?

And In the cheato there are tiny star fish that hichhiked in the cheato did they eat them all?

no they are there... are you feeding any type of phytoplankton for the pods to feed on? Tiger pods are extremely small so you will have to look on your glass very closely...

what I've noticed with copepods is that you really can't see them well unless they are schooling in one spot. There is a main spot in my fuge under a pod pile where I can always see them swarming. Make a little pile of rubble....watch it tomorrow. I guarantee you see a small swarm of pods.

Remember, these things are like the size of a needletip.

You HAVE to add phytoplankton. Copepods can get some added value from detritus, but that's not their main food - phytoplankton is. The amount of phytoplankton in a reef system is the limiting factor for how many copepods can live their. If you supplement your system with additional microalgae, you can and will produce more copepods.

IF you have some diatoms present they should be fine. Randy should have stated that in his post as many tanks have diatoms. He's mostly right, mainly in the sense if you want large numbers of "pods" in general, you'll want top supplement their diet with a phytoplankton mix heavy in brown algaes. Nanno isn't the best for this purpose (type of phytoplankton).
