talking about pods, i want to ask, i've got this deserted tank left at the corner of my room for months, nothing in it, just some sand and rocks and some uneaten food. but just recently i've discovered some pods in it. so, does the pods mean my tank is stable? coz i've not been running my filter as well, pretty sure the water parameters are bad.

It could mean something has adapted to whatever the water conditions are... Not necessarily that your abandoned tank has stable conditions for diverse life.
Likely very high sg if its just been sittin there for one.

I would add as well that the un-eaten food is more than likely done rotting and your ammonia may be high as well, depending on the amount of food. Was that added to start the cycle or just for the heck of it?

If the tank serves no purpose, I would empty it, clean it well and use it as my quarantine tank for whatever new additions you may have on your working aquarium.
