Polyps not opening any idea why?

See if your pH is low.
"Perfect" doesn't tell anyone what your parameters actually are, so that limits the help that can be given.

 

I agree with sushi we need to know your ph.

 

have you add any new zoas to your tank lately? I am thinking it is either zoa pox or nudibranchs. The best way to tell this is to just take the coral out and look at it with a magnifying glass.

Vitamin C actually does very well for zoas. This is the only thing that i actually dose that I can not test for. I use Brightwell Vitamin C and not sure about using human form (i have read many articles on people doing it) but i found it easier to just buy it.

I dip and try to QT all corals that I buy, however I ALWAYS do monti and zoas. Those pest that come on those 2 types of corals are horrible and can wipe out your colony over time.

I just recently bought a zoa frag that had zoa pox. Luckily I had them in a qt tank or else all my colonies could have developed it. (dip does nothing for zoa pox) The vitamin c really helped the pox and the coral is coming back nicely in qt.


It sounds like you have a nice zoa collection and expensive pieces. Definatly get a picture if you can and list your paremeters so people can help you better
