what is correct lighting? and the size of your tank?

Zenia don't seem to ship well, did you get it via mail or at a LFS?
mine seems to like a mid flow and a lot of light, if that help at all

Are you adding the supplements all at the same time? I was told that zenia are very sensetive to that, so supplements should be put in one at a time with at least an hour in between each. I am not an expert just passing info on from what I was told. Hope this helps

If your just starting a tank I wander what chemicals you are adding or needing to add. All of your needed elements should be in the salt you are mixing. Once your coral load it up then you might want to be adding suppliment but adding chemicals to a new tank worries me. :-/

Putting corals in a new tank is what worries me. How old is this tank?

How was this tank cycled ? Xenia are a very water sensitive coral .. Water Temps, currents ,lighting and elements . They demand proper Ca and Carbonate levels.. You'll hear alot of stuff about iodine but I never found that to be the case never dose the stuff myself It will feed algaes blooms like crazy. All I add is a basic complete trace element and I do that at 1/2 the dosage and 1/2 as often as the label directs it to be done.. I'm guessing a slight Nitrite or ammonia spike may be the problem..And that goes back to tanks age and cycling methods.

Xenia will do best with nutrient levels in your water a little higher than normal! As mentioned above, strong light and moderate to high water flow are recommended, and I do dose iodine for the many living animals that require it. Carbon and livestock will deplete iodine rather quickly as well as many other trace elements!
Xenia as well as many other soft corals will have a profound impact on stony corals, due to their high toxicity, therefore, a carbon regime and placement away from stonies is ideal.

Do at least a 25% water change.

IMO, NEVER add anything to your tank without testing to see if it is needed.
In 13 1/2 yrs, I've never added iodine or trace elements to any of my 10 systems, and nothing has suffered, especially the pom pom xenia that I sell all I can grow to my favorite LFS
