thats really interesting i dont think its flash though
ok ill take reading, do you also think thats why i could never find the bodys of the chromis like i can see them possibly getting trapped in or behind a rock but i lifited all of them and never found the bodies, and i only saw that the inverts at the insides of the chromis and left everything else

Blurp from the above link: "...This species has been known to eat mantis shrimp and bristleworms as well as other crustaceans, but will normally not eat corals or live plants."

lol i know maybe my new melanurus will eat it if i cant catch it myself, just so weird after 7 months it started happening and i have had no deaths of fish inverts or corals up until the the chromis died, and no popping noises either, ive had no hitchhikers come from my rock, no signs of any bristleworms or anything like that just so weird how all of a sudden 3 nights in a row it started popping

    (semi) simple solution.
    step 1) hear the noise
step 2) get angry because you were asleep
step 3) rub your eyes 2-3 times preferably
step 4) remember where you put that darn flashlight
step 5) second guess getting up
    step 6) find the flashlight
step 7) avoid tripping on misc things on the floor
step 8) go in stealth mode (if you arent already) and approach the tank
    step 9) listen
    step 10) listen
Step 11) once you hear the pop, turn the flashlight on
step 12) this may be done by pushing a botton usually labeled "on" though some twist
    step 13) look.
    step 14) look some more.
step 15) find mantis (if there is one)
step 16) send mantis to Patrick Scott, Alamo CA 94507
step 17) sleep like a baby

Wait....which step do you pour the scotch ? If it were me I simply can NOT go into stealth mode without scotch....or perhaps a glass of wine :)

the 4 previous hours of sleep help the stealth mode but the scotch may be poured after NOT BEFORE finding the flashlight
