i have a baby porcupine puffer fish about 2 inches.. my purple fire fish passed away and he decided to eat the fish before i could remove it from the tank. he also decided to take out a green watchmen goby which the petstore advised me he wouldn't bother.. are either of these toxic? he spit up the remains of the fish but now refuses to eat any food and just lays at the bottom of the tank. as before he would swim around and was very active.

I don't think they are toxic, your puffer is probably just to full to move. when they get full they have a habit of spiting stuff back out.

Probably some indigestion or just full, that's quite a meal. Puffers are aggresive and will eat other fish but those fish aren't toxic to it so there shouldn't be a problem.

i would check your parameters now after the fish have died and remains have had a chance to break down. if your tank is not well established and you dont have LR containing beneficial bacteria to break down the uneaten remains, there is a chance you could have a spike.

post your parameters after you check them, we are here to help.

also it wouldnt hurt to do a water change.

how much live rock would you recomend? i have a lot of plants and chunks of coral that i bought at the pet shop. isn't the live sand's bacteria beneficial aswell?
