    the sand i very beneficial but the rock is too. imo the more rock the better 100-150 lbs i would think

    so you would sugest adding live rock to a fish only tank?

    The rock gives fish a natural place to hide, and spots of slower flow to sleep. That's more important than anything else, but it has huge benefits for water quality as well.

    Sand is beneficial with out question.. but I would recommend a fowlr (fish only with live rock) over fish only tank... that's just my opinion/preference.
