Im looking into maybe adding a juv. larger sized fish to my tank due to the fact that I will be getting rid of the tank in 3 years anyways. Like many people Iv been drawn to porcupine puffers ever since I was young, and I do realize how large they can get over time ( 12" ). But what I am wondering is, how long does it take for a porky to reach a decent size? ( growth rate ) and how " reef safe " are they? Iv seen quite a few PPs in reef tanks, both in person and online, and I read in Scott W. Micheals book that they usually mind their own business as far as other fish if kept well fed ( even smaller fish ).

I do keep some LPS, softies and a RBT anemone, would a well fed porky go after any of these:confused: I would like to get your experiences with this fish, including its temperment, his growth rate and his probability of bothing corals and other sessile inverts. PLEASE only leave helpful info, tips and first hand experiences with this fish, thanks 8)

P.S. you can see my stocklist in my info below

It won't make it 3 years in a 75. They grow pretty quick.

They won't likely go after your softies. However, any LPS or SPS would be on the diet. They don't really eat them because they are hungry. If they don't keep their beak filed down, it will grow to the point where they can't even eat. They munch on hard things as a result.
