Anyone else have a Tetratec PF500 HOB filter?? The Columbus Solid Waste Management District may have one here real soon!!! Came home today to about 1.5 gallons of saltwater in the carpet around my tank, for the third time in about as many months. It seems algae loves to grow on the front permanent pad, and I thought I had it figured out that I could clean it every 3-4 weeks and it wouldn't fill up and overflow. I was wrong, I guess I will have to go weekly IF that is the problem. Anyone else ever have this problem? Anyone wanna loan me some space and money for a wet/dry?!?!

Sorry, I'm kinda venting through this!

Baby's doin great, well actually she is screaming in her bed right now so I am gonna hafta go get her here in a minute!!

im going to post some 1 year tank pics. and its got some pics how i set up a 15 gallon tall sump, 10 gallon remote fuge, and po4 reactor, under my 60 gallon(its got a standard 55 gal size stand).without emptying the tank or removing the center brace.
not that hard to do. but does cost a penny or 2.

    lol that rhymed.

I just ordered an emp 280 so I could have 2 of them on my 55. I wish i knew you had one available cuttingras, anyway I have been running these filters for about a little over a year and I really like em. Plus if you decide you don't want to use it as a filter anymore, just fill one side with rubble, one side with cheato put a generic light on top and you have an instant HOB fuge!

I think I am going to leave the front filter pad out. My live rock should be picking up the slack. Water will still have to pass through the 2 carbon filters before it is returned to the tank. Tarheel- nice idea on the HOB fuge!! I think my filter would put too much flow through it though... Bluephish- please post picks!! Let me know (PM me if you wanna) how much it costs... I'd still have to move the tank but I think that will happen soon anyways. Thanks for the feedback everyone, and more is welcome!

Dude, do you have a skimmer? Between a skimmer and LR, IMO you don't need the HOB filter at all. And you have a good amount of LR.
