i have a 125g tank that is 31" deep. i have 4 powerheads: 2- dual 3200 gph and 2- 750 gph. what would be an ideal way to place and position them in the tank.

You could place one of the 3200 at each end and the 750's along the back wall pointing forward. Just a thought. I say just play with them for awhile until you find something you like that gets flow everywhere.

That's what I would try first. Keep them pointed towards each other near the surface. Higher light coral will get more flow, lower light corals on the bottom will get less flow. It's a lot of fiddling around.

alot of people would point the more powerful ones into each other to get random current.

there really is no magic setup just try to eliminate dead spots and give corals flow

I think it will really depend on the layout of your rockwork.

The goal really is to not have spots with zero flow. Fidgeting with your flow will be something you’ll have to grow with as your tank and coral placement grow. One thing I have found I like is to have a higher flow powerhead tucked in the low back of the tank blowing the distance of the tank. I’ve noticed that really helps keep crud from settling on the bottom surface. Otherwise I try to point some down and some up.
