I have a chevron tang and had him for about a month now, he eats great and overall seems pretty happy. The problem is that he looks like he's shedding. My LFS wants me to bring in a water sample tomorrow because they said it might be a bacteria infection. I'll try and get a picture later on but has any one seen or heard of this?

I am not sure how they can tell from a water sample if a fish has a bacterial infection...are they putting it under a microscope, or gram staining it?

I am sure fish can get bacterial infections, but usually one can tell visually (tho I am not sure what one looks like...)

Is it a smaller tang? I hear chevrons are more difficult the younger they are... :)

Not sure either, he is still a juvenile, only about 4". Like I said before, everything seems fine he just looks like he's shedding. I'll see what the LFS says tomorrow.
