Once again another near panic attack avoided!! Thought I had something bad going on. I found one of these guys yesterday afternoon while feeding my fish. I guess I will leave him be..

I freaked out about bristle worms too. You should see the one I have in my tank that's the width of my finger lol. I don't know how he fits in the rock.

Bristle worms are actually fun to watch. During feeding the worms in my tank will come out and some of them are quite long. It's cool seeing them intertwined in the pores of the rock. Just my opinion, seeing what grows out of new rock is just as amazing as what livestock I might add.

Be careful if you do go after Bristle Worms as the bristles break off in your skin quite easily and sting like mad. PVC cement works well for removing them if you do get stuck.

I was reading through the comments, looking for someone to say "don't boil the rock because..", and I was pretty astonished it took so long for someone to say it! I had boiled a little piece of dead coral (before I knew any better) for my girlfriend, and when I found out why not to boil LR, I got pretty worried!

But yes, as Marshall said, NEVER boil LR. The toxins can be lethal..

Almost every story I can tell you about my reef contains that sentence. :)
