Hello everyone, i have this weird looking thing that open and close periodically. It looks like a clam but i'm not sure what it is, n e help would be greatly appreciated. :)

P.S can someone tell me how to post pictures well? i have adobe and i try playing around with the pixel and making it smaller but sometimes by making it smaller the quality of the picture really take a stab. I've seen links and stuff that lead to nice quality pictures, can someone help me?

That's a jewel box clam. It is a harmless filter feeder. There's several different species of jewel boxes. I think yours is a corrugated jewel box.

Well, they aren't as attractive as tridacnids so they aren't sold as often. They are also azooxanthellate and your lighting won't provide it with any food. You'll need phytoplankton, preferably live phytoplankton, to keep it alive.
