This morning as hammer coral was expanding I noticed white cotton ball/spiderweb type substance coming from between polyps. I went ahead and sunctioned it off best I could. Appears to be attached in/around the polyp base though.

Started feeding tangs sinking pellets recently and the only thing I can think of is one sunk into the coral skeleton and began to deteriorate or something. Also hoping its not brown jelly disease...Water params all seem okay- SG 1.026, nitrates 10, ph 8.2, temp 77, kh/alk 9.6/3.43, ca 430, po4 .03

Thanks in advance for any help/advice, here's some pics:

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Does not look like brown jelly to me, once it strikes it's a matter of hours, you would have not doubt.

Does look like something settled with the polyps.

Awesome, glad you think its free of bjd.Another board member said it could be a piece of shrimp. I think this makes sense as I do mix mysis in with the fish/reef diet I feed.
