possible quota on invert collection in Florida

    Thought this may be of interest to some of you in South Florida. I heard on NPR today that there's decrease in the number of snails and crabs found in Florida reefs, and they think it's caused by harvesting for stores and hobbyists. They are discussing imposing a quota on snails and crabs. Sound like this may be of particular interest to John from ReefCleaners....

    Sounds to me like we are going to have to pay a bit more money for our cleaners in the future.

    True. But to be honest, I'm not even sure if my snails and crabs are local. I think my snails are from the pacific, but maybe the bl hermits are locally caught.
