Purchased some live rock from my LFS the other day and saw this little guy swaying in the current and munching on a brine shrimp a day later.

Picture is a little crappy, cell phone is the only camera I have available at the moment.

For reference, he's stretched out to approx. 1cm tall in the photo (how he managed to swallow an entire brine shrimp is beyond me).

Unfortunately I can't really photograph him from another angle without disturbing him or deconstructing all of my LR. His top is just a small white dot (presumably his mouth) surrounded by millimeter sized tentacles.

Are we sure that's not just a brown button polyp?

The bulbous tentacles say yes. I agree with everyone that said majano. Definitely not aptasia.

Sorry folks, but from what I can tell, it doesn't look like any Majano or Aptasia I've ever seen. I may be wrong, and it's for certain that the large majority of hitch-hiker anemones are not any of the good kind, but every now and then one can get lucky. Regardless, it won't take over your tank in one night or even a week, so I vote to leave it alone until you can get us a better pic.

Not that I've ever had majanos, but I've seen plenty & not seen one that tall looking. Definitely not aiptasia (tentacles too stubby). I'm almost leaning toward a polyp too (mine eat whole pieces of brine shrimp every day). Definitely need a better pic.
